who we are
ran by floral designer and visual artist Lauren Montoya (they/she) and supported by a network of talented designers, lovely day is your new best friend when it comes to florals and events. we’re here to collaborate and refine your vision for your event, whether that only includes florals, greenery, or even lush tablescapes.
we run under the belief that flowers should be fun for us and the client, and that anything is possible with the right team. our style is whimsical, colorful, and poppy, and can be tailored to your vision.
we believe designers should be paid a living wage and treated with respect and reverence for their work and experience.
about lauren
hailing from rural Maine, lauren grew up surrounded by nature with a mother who loved to garden. when the classic career route wasn’t working out, they turned to florals after a friend said “i want to be a florist” and lauren thought “wait, you can just do that?” And thus, a new world of artistry and nature opened up to her.
that was way back in 2018. since then, lauren has worked for every type of florist under the sun. starting with the classic unpaid internship in NYC. they moved back to DC to work at a large events florist and finish undergrad. upon leaving dc, lauren put in years at retail, freelancing, and more event-based florists.
lauren has also led and advised hundreds of designers during her time at poppy, a nationwide wedding florist revolutionizing micro-weddings.
in her free time, lauren loves to pet her dog tallulah, read, frolick near a body of water, collect trinkets, shop, and do various art and DIY projects to keep the creatives juices flowing.
